HealthCast - much more than single sign-on!

HealthCast's eXactACCESS SSO and clinical workflow solution go way beyond single sign-on. They continue to build out a solution that recognizes the need for user-friendly, effective workflow solutions designed around the relationship between users, apps and devices. You can buy single sign-on from other vendors, but do they really understand how clinicians work at shared workstations? Can multiple users run concurrent sessions on the same workstation so that they can switch between sessions in seconds and return to their work exactly where they left off? Can users roam their active applications or desktop so they can immediately re-access their work as they left it at any workstation when they move from area to area? Can they use the same proximity badge they use for physical access to automatically login, launch applications based on their user group, and then automatically be navigated to specific page(s) to eliminate repetitive keystrokes? Can that same badge be used to lock or logoff a session, or switch users - just with the tap of the badge? Can other vendors integrate every application in your enterprise and gracefully logoff users when applications are closed? Have you asked?

If a single sign-on solution isn't a complete workflow and desktop management solution, doctors and nurses will not change their behavior to comply with HIPAA regulations and will not willingly adopt EHR and CPOE solutions. HealthCast gets it. Their solution is simple and fast for doctors and nurses to use, and it offers all the options necessary to fit the multiple clinical workflow scenarios and applications that are found in hospitals. One size does not fit all. Avoid simple-solution sign-on vendors. Simple, in a complex technical, operational and role-based environment, won't get the job done and won't keep your doctors and nurses happy.
